Maine Indoor Rowing Championship – Register Online
The 3rd Annual Maine Indoor Rowing Championships is a collaborative effort between
CrossFit Casco Bay and the Portland Community Rowing Association. The competition
will be held Saturday, February 4 at CrossFit Casco Bay’s new location in Portland, ME.
This annual event features athletes from all over New England. The hours of the Event
are 10:00am-1:00 pm.
The Relationship between Portland Community Rowing Association and CrossFit Casco Bay started when PCRA was looking for a place to hold winter training programs. Savas called Neil since they both met at a CrossFit Cert in the summer of 2009. PCRA brought athletes and ergs, and Crossfit provided more ergs and space. Perfect partnership!
To keep the winter training fun and focused, we created an Annual event called the Maine Indoor Rowing Championships. This event is modeled after the World Indoor Rowing Championships held in Boston every year. Standard distance on the erg is 2,000 Meters, which is the international racing distance used in the Olympics and World Championships.
